1. A biometrics system using a structured light illumination technique, comprising:
an enclosure having a scan volume formed therein, wherein one side of the scan volume includes a background pattern; at least one projection unit for projecting a structured light pattern onto the 3D object positioned in the scan volume; one or more cameras for capturing a plurality of images of the 3D object, wherein the plurality of images include at least a portion of the 3D object and a portion of the backdrop pattern; and a processing unit for calculating coordinates of the 3D object from one or more of the plurality of images. |
