PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for a tire, capable of improving fuel efficiency and wet grip performance while maintaining good wear resistance, and to provide a pneumatic tire using the same.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to the rubber composition for a tire, which contains a rubber component, silica, an inorganic compound whose crystal system is monoclinic, and a silane coupling agent having a mercapto group. The content of the silica is 5-150 pts.mass based on 100 pts.mass of the rubber component. The content of the inorganic compound is 2-10 pts.mass and the content of the silane coupling agent is 0.2 pt.mass or more based on 100 pts.mass of the silica. |
