PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluid catalytic cracking catalyst which can recover useful components and is excellent in economical efficiency and to provide a fluid catalytic cracking catalyst having excellent wear resistance.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a fluid catalytic cracking catalyst, the method comprising the following steps (a) to (c): (a) a step of pulverizing and/or dispersing a mixed slurry of zeolite fine particles, a matrix forming component, recovered solid fine particles and/or recovered solid fine particle precursors, followed by spray-drying in a hot air current to form microspherical particles; (b) a step of washing the microspherical particles; and (c) a step of drying the microspherical particles after the washing step.
