PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To resolve the problem that, in a conventional motor drive device, it is required to use a resistor that is high in rated power, high in cost, and large in size, for the purpose of detecting presence or absence of abnormalities of a DC link part.SOLUTION: A motor drive device according to an embodiment comprises: a converter part for converting an AC voltage inputted from a main power supply into a DC voltage; a DC link part rectifying the DC voltage outputted from the converter part; an inverter part converting the DC voltage rectified by the DC link part into an AC voltage for driving a motor by means of a semiconductor switching element; a voltage application part provided independently of the main power supply, and applying voltage to the DC link part; a voltage detector for detecting voltage of the DC link part after the voltage is applied by the voltage application part; and an abnormality determination part for determining presence or absence of abnormalities of the DC link part on the basis of the voltage detected by the voltage detector. |
