<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter capable of starting optical communication by stabilizing a light absorption rate in a relatively short time without waiting for the stabilization of a temperature of an EA (Electro-Absorption) modulator, after activation.SOLUTION: In order to get a light absorption rate of an EA modulator 3a2 within a preset range at a temperature indicated in a temperature signal A7, a controller 2 reads a value of a bias voltage signal to be applied to the EA modulator 3a2 from storage means provided in the controller 2, and transmits the bias voltage signal A2 to a bias voltage-generating circuit 5. The bias voltage-generating circuit 5 applies a bias voltage based on the bias voltage signal A2 to the EA modulator 3a2.</p> |
