PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an electrode active material and an electrode material high in electronic conductivity and excellent in diffusibility of Li inside particles; an electrode containing the electrode material; a lithium ion battery having high discharge capacity at high-speed charge/discharge rate and sufficient charge/discharge rate performance by including a positive electrode comprising the electrode; and a method for producing an electrode material that is high in electronic conductivity and excellent in diffusibility of Li inside particles.SOLUTION: An electrode active material of the present invention is an electrode active material containing sulfur or a compound thereof in a particle represented by LiADPO(where A represents one or two or more selected from the group consisting of Co, Mn, Ni, Fe, Cu and Cr, D represents one or two or more selected from the group consisting of Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba, Ti, Zn, B, Al, Ga, In, Si, Ge, Sc, Y and a rare earth element, and 0<x<2, 0<y<1 and 0≤z<1.5 are satisfied). The sulfur content in the particle is high in the center of the particle and low in the vicinity of a surface. |
