PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a core-shell catalyst particle having high activity.SOLUTION: A method for producing a core-shell catalyst particle which comprises a core containing palladium and a shell which contains a metal catalyst other than palladium and covers the core comprises: a step of applying a potential to a palladium-containing particle in an acid solution having a pH of 1 or more and 3 or less; and a step of covering the surface of the palladium-containing particle with a metal catalyst other than palladium after the step of applying a potential.
