PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiconductor cable which is improved in mechanical reliability, including flexibility and twisting properties, and its production method.SOLUTION: In a multiconductor cable, a plurality of small-diameter cables are collected; a shield layer is covered around the small-diameter cables; and a sheath is covered around the shield layer. The shield layer is formed by braiding a plurality of twisted wires 23a composed of two or three element wires 23b twisted together. The twisting pitch P of the element wires 23b is 20-50 times the outer diameter of the twisted wires 23a.
