<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow for improvement both in display performances such as contrast and reflectance, and in precise gradation display performance.SOLUTION: A driving method of an electrophoretic display device includes: an all pixel in the same display driving step of bringing all pixel electrodes (21) into the same display state by common swing which changes a potential of a common electrode (22); a gradation display drive step of controlling the number of scans so that a target pixel has desired gradation and bringing the pixel electrode into a high impedance state after the last scan, in a state where the potential of the common electrode (22) is fixed to a midpoint potential of a potential applied by the common swing to the common electrode (22), and pixel signals are applied to a plurality of data lines (X) corresponding to the target pixel; and a stop step of performing short-circuit between the pixel electrode (21) and the common electrode (22) of the target pixel after the target pixel reached the desired gradation.</p> |
