<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet carrying device and an image forming apparatus capable of implementing excellent sheet separability without depending on the sheet rigidity and also capable of increasing productivity.SOLUTION: A pressing member 80 is provided, which, when a suction separation unit is transferred from a suction position to a carrying position, presses a suction belt 2 against a sheet bundle 1 at a position on downstream, in a sheet carrying direction, of an upstream side hanging roller 6 within a suction area of the suction belt to which the uppermost sheet 1a of the sheet bundle is sucked. The pressing member 80 separates from the sheet bundle 1 together with the suction belt 2 when an inclination angle at which the suction belt 2, on downstream of the pressing position in the sheet carrying direction, inclines with respect to the sheet bundle 1, becomes a predetermined angle in step with the transfer. The inclination angle when the pressing member 80 is separated from the sheet bundle 1 is configured to be changeable.</p> |
