PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting tool capable of suppressing chipping or sudden deficiency on a flank, concerning a cutting tool including a coating layer.SOLUTION: In a cutting insert 1, a coating layer 6 comprising a multilayer including an AlOlayer 12 is provided on the surface of a substrate 5, and the outermost surface of the coating layer 6 on a flank 3 has a constitution in which top flat spherical particles 20 each having a spherical shape with a flat part on the top are aligned, and a deep crack 21 and a shallow crack 22 exist on the outermost surface of the coating layer 6 on the flank 3. |
