PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder capable of determining a sheet residual amount on a sheet storage part correctly even when a residual amount display member which contacts to a sheet loading member oscillating according to a sheet loading amount and interlocks is shared to plural kinds of sheet storage parts whose maximum loading amounts are different from each other.SOLUTION: A sheet loading plate 36 has an inclination face 36s inclined with respect to a sheet loading face on a part where a residual amount detection end part 34b of a residual amount display member 34 contacts. An inclination angle and an inclination direction of the inclination face 36s with respect to the sheet loading face are set so that a residual amount display end part 34a moves in whole determined display width between the time when the sheets are loaded fully and the time when no sheet is loaded on the sheet loading face.
