PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus which prevents density from being varied due to displacement between a toner charge amount measurement position and a control position.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: developing means 104; detection means 108 having an adsorption unit 121 which electrostatically adsorbs toner on a developer carrier 111 and detecting the amount of electrostatic charges on the toner adsorbed by the adsorption unit 121; and control means which controls an image forming condition for exposure of exposure means on the basis of the detected amount of electrostatic charges. When the time required for the developer carrier 111 to rotate from a position where the adsorption unit 121 adsorbs the toner on the developer carrier 111 to a developing position where an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor 101 is developed is Tqcm, the time required for the photoreceptor 101 to rotate from an exposure position where the exposure means exposes the photoreceptor 101 to the developing position is Tetd, and the time required for the control means to control the image forming condition on the basis of the detected amount of electrostatic charges is Tp, the adsorption unit 121 is arranged so as to satisfy Tqcm≥Tetd+Tp. |
