PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a signal read-out time without deteriorating image quality in an imaging apparatus employing an imaging device capable of implementing pupil division type focus detection.SOLUTION: A plurality of pixels are disposed in a matrix shape. Each pixel includes a plurality of photoelectric conversion sections, a charge/voltage conversion section which is provided in common for the photoelectric conversion sections, and a transfer section for transferring electric charges generated by the photoelectric conversion sections to the charge/voltage conversion section. An imaging apparatus comprises an output line from which a signal from the charge/voltage conversion section is outputted, and first and second capacitors for writing the outputted signal therein. A first signal provided from at least one of the plurality of photoelectric conversion sections is transferred to the charge/voltage conversion section and written through the output line to the first capacitor. In addition to the first signal, a second signal provided from at least another of the plurality of photoelectric conversion sections is transferred to the charge/voltage conversion section and written through the output line to the second capacitor. A write time into the first capacitor is made shorter than a write time into the second capacitor. |
