PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrogen generator that can confirm the operation of a CO detector more easily than in the past, by using carbon monoxide generated upon ignition of a combustor.SOLUTION: A hydrogen generator includes: a reformer 1 for reforming a raw material containing hydrocarbon components to produce reformed gas containing hydrogen; a combustor 2 for burning combustible gas containing hydrocarbon components to heat the reformer; an air feeder 3 for feeding air to the combustor 2; a combustible gas feeder 4 for feeding combustible gas to the combustor 2; a CO detector 5 for detecting carbon monoxide in combustion exhaust gas discharged from the combustor 2; and a controller 6. When the CO detector 5 fails to detect the carbon monoxide of a predetermined concentration or higher that is generated upon ignition of the combustor 2, the controller 6 performs at least one of alarming and operation stop of the combustor 2. |
