[Class 41] Antimony is electrodeposited upon steel and other metals from aqueous baths containing the trifluoride and a soluble fluoride. derivable from ammonium hydroxide (e.g. ammonium fluoride). Copper, mercury, and tellurium fluorides may be present to prevent " treeing," decrease the grain size of the deposit, and increase the throwing power of the baths. Anodes of antimony or inert anodes may be employed. The compositions of three baths are set out in the Specification. |
