PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unnecessary power consumption of a sensor unit while performing driving assist at a timing at which the driving assist is needed, on the basis of a result of detection by the sensor unit, of a physical quantity which arises along with a manipulation of an operating member of a vehicle.SOLUTION: If an assistance timing discrimination unit 370 discriminates a situation in which a decision to be made by an assistance decision unit 374 is needed, a handheld terminal 3 allows a transmission request unit 371 to issue a transmission request to a sensor unit 2. In response to the transmission request, the sensor unit 2 transmits a detection value, which is produced by an acceleration sensor 21 that detects an acceleration generated with a manipulation performed on a turn signal lever 5, to the handheld terminal 3. In the handheld terminal 3, based on a manipulated state of the turn signal lever 5 which a manipulated state identification unit 366 identifies according to the detection value sent from the sensor unit 2, the assistance decision unit 374 decides whether driving assistance should be given. |
