PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a regenerative braking function to be maximally utilized without a reaction, perceptible by a driver, in the form of deceleration fluctuations, pedal force changes, or pedal stroke changes.SOLUTION: A method for operating a brake system for a vehicle comprises: from an initial position, displacing a booster body relative to a master brake cylinder a prescribed distance in a direction toward the master brake cylinder into an end position; from the end position, displacing the booster body relative to the master brake cylinder the same distance in an opposite direction away from the master brake cylinder back into the initial position; and during the step of displacing the booster body from the end position back into the initial position, sucking hydraulic fluid from wheel brake devices that are communicated with the brake system and assigned to the wheels of the vehicle, for the reduction of a hydraulic fluid pressure existing in the wheel brake devices. Additionally, the method includes a passive routine for reducing the hydraulic fluid pressure by closing an exhaust valve. |
