<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem of causing scratches in Chinese yams by generating a compressive force in the lower layer part of a culture soil block when the blade of a digging cutter is inserted to the lower end of the Chinese yam, in a conventional Chinese yam harvester in which the digging cutter plowed to the lower end of grown Chinese yams is arranged with a fixed distance apart from the digging chain that digs both sides of the Chinese yams.SOLUTION: In a Chinese yam harvester, both sides of grown Chinese yams are bored, with the lower ends of the yam dug up, and the yams are successively raised together with the culture soil by the digging cutter whose rear end is inclined upward, with the yams moved rearward. The digging chain for digging both sides is arranged with its lowest end close to the upper part of the blade of the digging cutter. The boom is equipped with length adjustment means, making the vertical length of the digging chain adjustable, and making an approaching height adjustable between the lower end of the digging chain and the digging cutter, which is the characteristic of the Chinese yam harvester connected to a tractor. The harvester is configured to eliminate the compressive force generated in the lower layer part of the digging cutter that scratches the yam.</p> |
