PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an array antenna which is small-sized, has sharp directivity and is capable of controlling the sharpness of directivity, and radio communication equipment.SOLUTION: The array antenna is formed from one main antenna element and N pieces of sub antenna elements. The sub antenna elements are disposed on a circle around the main antenna element, and a radius of the circle around the main antenna element is matched with a 1/4 wavelength of a carrier wave used for radio communication. An amplitude ratio and a phase difference between a feeding point voltage of the main antenna element and a feeding point voltage of the sub antenna element are controlled in such a manner that directivity of a beam formed from both the antennas is strengthened. |
