PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal structure of rotary kiln and a rotary kiln in which radiation heat from an object to be processed within a transparent rotary cylinder is hardly transmitted to a seal interface part.SOLUTION: A rotary kiln of this invention has a transparent rotary cylinder 2. A seal structure comprises a rotary flange part 40 including a rotary side radial extending part 400 protruded from an outer circumferential surface of the rotary cylinder 2 toward an outside part in a radial direction and an annular rotary side axial extending part 401 extending axially from the rotary side radial extending part 400; a fixed flange part 41 arranged at an outside part in a radial direction of the rotary side axial extending part 401 while being independent from the rotary cylinder 2 and having an annular fixed side axial extending part 411 for forming an annular seal interface SA between it and the rotary side axial extending part 401; and a thermal shielding part 49 inserted between the rotary cylinder 2 and the rotary side axial extending part 401 to restrict radiation heat generated from an object W to be processed in the rotary cylinder 2 to the rotary side axial extending part 401.
