PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin and light sound absorber with superior sound absorbing performance.SOLUTION: A sound absorber according to the invention contains a nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric consists of continuous fibers. The continuous fibers and the nonwoven fabric satisfy all following requirements: (a) the crystallinity of the continuous fiber obtained by X-ray diffraction is 40% or lower; (b) the average fiber diameter of the continuous fiber is 0.1 to 5 μm; (c) the average apparent density of the nonwoven fabric is 0.13 to 1.24 g/cm; and (d) the porosity of the nonwoven fabric is 10 to 90%.
