PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing system capable of updating map data in an accurate and integrated fashion while reducing an information amount exchanged with an external source for updating; and capable of updating map data in accordance with a route or an area where a user intends to travel.SOLUTION: A navigation device S comprises: an interface 1 which acquires map data SD used for movement and feature data 90 corresponding to a feature located along a movement path; a determination section 3 which determines whether or not discrepancy exists between the feature data 90 included in the acquired map data SD and the feature data 90 actually acquired during the movement; and an updating section 5 which transmits a determination result and the feature data to a server device when the determination section determines existence of the discrepancy and updates the map data SD using update data only when the update data is transmitted thereto.
