PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position information management system which manages indoor positions of a management target (user) carrying a communication terminal and also determines whether a distribution device distributing its position information may have a failure.SOLUTION: A position information management system 9 manages position information which indicates a position of a distribution device distributed by the distribution device, by receiving the position information transmitted from a communication terminal having received the position information from the distribution device. The position information management system 9 collates failure pattern information with movement history information J indicating a movement history of the communication terminal on the basis of the managed position information, in order to identify the distribution device which may have a failure.
