PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of a splash at high-speed threading of a steel strip.SOLUTION: A gas wiping apparatus for a hot-dip metal coated steel strip controls the thickness of a deposited metal by blowing a gas from a nozzle to both surfaces of a steel strip extracted from a molten metal pool. The gas wiping apparatus includes: a main nozzle for jetting a gas to the full width of the steel strip; and a plurality of pre-nozzle injection parts which are installed on each of both surfaces of the steel strip upstream from the main nozzle and jet the gas to a portion of the full width of the steel band.
