PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a manufacturing apparatus for a membrane electrode assembly, capable of suppressing adhesion of catalyst ink adhering to an electrolyte membrane; and a holding member used in manufacturing a membrane electrode assembly.SOLUTION: A membrane electrode assembly 210 of the present invention includes an electrolyte membrane 220 and catalyst layers 230, 240 on both surfaces of the electrolyte membrane. In the membrane electrode assembly, a holding member includes a holding part 10 that is brought into contact with one surface of the electrolyte membrane to hold the electrolyte membrane when a catalyst solution 260 is attached on the other surface while a catalyst solution 250 is attached on the one surface of the electrolyte membrane, the catalyst solution 250 being obtained by adding a solvent to a catalyst material constituting the catalyst layers. The holding part has a surface shape having a contact angle relative to the catalyst solution of exceeding 90 degrees. |
