PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing L-amino acids by fermentation using a bacterial strain of Enterobacteriaceae modified to enhance efficiency of L-amino acid production by microbial fermentation.SOLUTION: The method for producing L-amino acid selected from the group consisting of aromatic L-amino acids and non-aromatic L-amino acids by fermentation uses a modified bacterial strain belonging to Escherichia coli or Pantoea ananatis of Enterobacteriaceae, especially a bacterial strain belonging to Escherichia coli, where the modification is made so as to attenuate yjjk gene expression by inactivation or deletion.
