PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide carbon black having a high specific surface, high crystallinity, and low aggregability.SOLUTION: A carbon black has a specific surface of 300-1,100 m/g, a crystal layer thickness (Lc) of 25-100Å, and a maximum diameter of aggregating particles of not greater than 20 μm. A bulk density of the carbon black is preferably 0.010-0.030 g/cm. A degree of dispersion of the carbon black by a fineness gage defined in JIS K 5600-2-5 is preferably not greater than 20 μm. An electrode for a battery is manufactured using the carbon black. |
