<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading device which adjusts the quantity of light from a light source so as to equalize image read sensitivity by adjusting a width limit value for pulse width modulation of the light source, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: The image reading device comprises: a plurality of light sources which correspond to a plurality of primary colors and are turned on successively; reading means for reading first primary color light from a first light source among the plurality of light sources and second primary color light from a second light source which is turned on next to the first light source; and adjusting means for adjusting a width limit value for pulse width modulation in the plurality of light sources. On the basis of comparison between a first reference data value and a second reference data value, the adjusting means adjusts the width limit value for the pulse width modulation of the first light source. The first reference data value indicates a black reference data value acquired on the basis of light before the plurality of light sources are successively turned on. The second reference data value indicates a black reference data value acquired on the basis of the second primary color light from the second light source being turned on.</p> |
