PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably suppress impregnation of a wax material in forming a wax material layer onto a negative electrode base body of a porous structure.SOLUTION: An impregnation type negative electrode body structure 10 includes: a negative electrode base body 11 to which an emissive material is impregnated and whose surface is an electronic discharge surface 11a; a heater 15 that is disposed at a rear surface side of the negative electrode base body 11 and heats up the negative electrode base body 11; and a support cylinder 14 that accommodates the heater 15 and supports the negative electrode base body 11 at an end part. A wax material layer (a filling-up layer 13) is formed through a metal mesh 12 at a rear surface of the negative electrode base body 11.
