PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of achieving space saving of an installation space of an indoor unit.SOLUTION: An air conditioner comprises: a plurality of indoor units 2 and 3 including machine rooms 2b and 3b, respectively; and a plurality of outdoor units 4 and 5. The plurality of indoor units 2 and 3 are stacked vertically so as to be arranged in a plurality of stages, respectively, and the machine rooms 2b and 3b of these indoor units 2 and 3 vertically communicate with each other. Fluid-side and gas-side pipe connection end portions 17 and 18 of the indoor units 2 and 3 connected to liquid-side and gas-side refrigerant connection pipes 19 and 20 of the outdoor units 4 and 5 are provided above the indoor unit 2 in an upper stage.
