PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion control device for an internal combustion engine capable of effectively suppressing knocking at a high compression ratio.SOLUTION: A basic NO supply amount ANOB and an upper limit amount ANOMAX are calculated in accordance with engine speed NE, an intake pressure PBA and an engine cooling water temperature TW (S11), and a correction amount ANOCR is calculated in accordance with a knocking detection flag FKNOCK showing a detection result of knocking (S12). The basic NO supply amount ANOB is corrected by the correction amount ANOCR, and NO supply command amount ANOCMD is calculated (S13). The NO supply command amount ANOCMD is set not to exceed the upper limit amount ANOMAX (S14, S15).
