<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for checking operation, which allows checking to be reliably performed that an abnormal situation auto-detector for automatically detecting an abnormal situation in a molten-metal handling facility is operating normally.SOLUTION: An abnormal situation auto-detector includes: an imaging device 10 for imaging an operational situation of a molten-metal handling facility; and an image processing device 12 for image processing and analyzing an image taken by the imaging device 10. The image processing device 12 discriminates a color of each pixel composing the obtained image, and calculates the number of pixels representing a specific color contained in a prescribed region of the image. When taking an image by projecting light of the specific color on the imaging device 10 so that the number of pixels representing the specific color exceeds a reference number, the abnormal situation auto-detector checks whether "a breakout has occurred" is determined or not, and when taking an image by projecting light of the specific color on the imaging device 10 so that the number of pixels representing the specific color is equal to or below the reference number, the abnormal situation auto-detector checks whether "a breakout has not occurred" is determined or not.</p> |
