<p>PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for driving liquid crystal display device are provided to improve the indication luminance and display efficiency of an image while saving power consumption. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus and a method for driving liquid crystal display device comprises a liquid crystal panel(2), a data driver(4), a gate driver(6), a timing controller(8), a data conversion part(10), and a backlight unit(18). The liquid crystal panel includes a plurality of pixel regions. The data driver operates data lines of the liquid crystal panel. The gate driver operates gate lines of the liquid crystal panel. The timing controller outputs the inputted video data after arranging in accordance to the liquid crystal panel. The data conversion part provides arranged video data after changing gray scale value to the data driver. The backlight unit irradiates light to the liquid crystal panel corresponding to the duty ratio of the dimming control signal.</p> |
