According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus comprises: a user detection unit for generating detection information on each user by detecting one or more users viewing one or more pieces of content displayed on a display; a user recognition unit for recognizing each user and the content which each user is viewing based on the detection information on each user, and generating content control information on each user based on the recognition result; and a control unit for controlling one or more pieces of content displayed on the display to be appropriate to each user based on the content control information on each user.
