摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To configure a machine room so that a drive source for a direction change machine is arranged in such a way as to suppress deterioration of the powder transmission efficiency for transmission to the direction change machine, e.g. a steering device or a revolution-type propulsion electric motor, provided that the height of the embarking deck to the ship is set to a height corresponding to the height of quay of a port for the ship to call at and that effects, including vibration of the embarking deck, are reduced.SOLUTION: A ship includes an embarking deck 2A which is provided in the ship body 1 and loaded with cargoes, a shore ramp 3 which is provided in the stern part of a ship body 1, arranged so as to be vertically swingable through a hinge part 3a relative to the embarking deck 2A and continued to the upper surface of the embarking deck 2A when swung downward and a direction change machine 4 which is provided in the stern part and changes the traveling direction. A drive source 43 for the direction change machine 4 is arranged so that an output shaft 43a extends vertically and that a machine room 44 housing the drive source 43 is raised upward relative to the embarking deck 2A, and the shore ramp 3 is arranged so as to avoid the position of the machine room 44.
