摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion motor control system capable of improving redundancy by including a plurality of propulsion drives and exerting an output control over a ship propulsion system efficiently and more finely.SOLUTION: An electric propulsion system comprises: power supplies PS1 and PS2 including storage cells B1 and B2; a propeller P propelling a ship; propulsion motors M11, M12, M21, and M22 driving the propeller P; and an electric power converters INV11, INV12, INV21, and INV22 controlling driving of the propulsion motors M11, M12, M21, and M22. In the electric propulsion system, the two power supplies PS1 and PS2 are provided, and the 2n (n is an integer equal to or greater than 2) propulsion motors M11 and M12, and M21 and M22 and 2n electric power converters INV11 and INV12, and INV21 and INV22 are provided for the respective power supplies PS1 and PS2. The 2n propulsion motors M11, M12, M21, and M22 are arranged on the same drive shaft of the propeller P, the propulsion motors M11, M12, M21, and M22 are distributed and connected to the two power supplies PS1 and PS2 via the respective electric power converters INV11, INV12, INV21, and INV22. Propulsion controllers PC1 and PC2 controlling the electric power converters INV11 and INV12, and INV21 and INV22 in response to an operation command and an operation status are provided. These propulsion controllers PC1 and PC2 switch the number of operating propulsion motors in response to the operation command and the operation status.
