The present invention provides a process for regenerating a spent catalyst comprising a molecular sieve, the process comprising the step of contacting the spent catalyst with a hydrogen-containing gas under catalyst reactivation conditions. The regenerated catalyst formed is preferably used in aromatic alkylation and transalkylation processes.
