The invention relates to a regenerative pneumohydraulic pump for reducing the volume of oil in the system compared with hydraulic systems commonly used. The pump is actuated by compressed air which controls and supplies at the same time a hydraulic pressure generator (06), this generator consisting of a pneumatic cylinder provided with a piston having a through-rod constituting a double-acting hydraulic pump which is put automatically into reciprocating movement by the switching of a pneumatic directional valve (07) which is self-controlled by the variations in pressure in the pneumatic chambers (06C, 06D) of the generator (06). The pressurized oil obtained is conveyed towards a hydraulic ram (01) which actuates a payload. The return line of this ram (01) also has an adjustable flow-rate regulating valve (11) for moderating and regulating the speed of movement of the rod of the ram (01) when said rod is driven by the payload, so as to avoid the phenomenon of cavitation in the hydraulic circuit. The generator (06), by way of its regenerative principle, ensures the immediate recirculation of the oil from one hydraulic chamber (06A, 06B) to the other, thereby making it possible to reduce the volume of the oil reservoir (04) to the absolute minimum necessary. On account of its reduced space requirement, the pump can be used advantageously for all sorts of applications in vehicles. |
