<p>Disclosed is a method for controlling discharging of a battery, which facilitates rapid and reliable discharging of a main battery and high-voltage components using high-voltage load elements when a hybrid vehicle, an electric vehicle, or a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle needs maintenance. The method comprises the following steps: determining whether a discharge command for the main battery is inputted in a maintenance standby state; driving a motor at a constant RPM after entering a forced discharging mode, and operating an electronic load to induce rapid discharging of the main battery if the discharge command for the main battery is inputted; terminating the forced discharging mode and switching an ignition turned off if the main battery is discharged until a SOC of the main battery is less than a preset reference value (A%) while the main battery is discharged by operations of the motor and the electronic load in the forced discharging mode.</p> |
