PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To read reference image at a high speed, and create evaluation data for enabling accurate evaluation from the read reference image.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: am image forming unit which forms an image on a sheet; a reading unit which reads an image formed on the sheet by the image forming unit; and a control unit which causes the image forming unit to form a reference image for image evaluation (step S1), causes the reading unit to read the reference image with lower resolution than in image formation (step S2), and obtains a read value of the reference image with higher resolution than the read reference image by use of the read reference image, to create evaluation data from the read value (steps S3 and S4). |
