Embodiments of the present invention provides a session initiation protocol (SIP) based session method, terminal, and server. The method comprises: requesting participation in session media exchange after creating or joining a session; receiving an SIP number allocated by a session service server; initiating SIP registration according to the SIP number, and notifying the session service server after registration succeeds; and initiating SIP deregistration after requesting ending or exiting of the current session, and notifying the session service server after deregistration succeeds. The embodiments of the present invention can effectively save an SIP number resource, reduce network bandwidth occupancy, and effectively reduce device investment. |
