[Class 114] A screw propeller blade is generated in the main by a line perpendicular to the axis of rotation the generation being continued at its inner portion by easy curves with normal attachment to the middle of the boss, the main portion being disposed with most or nearly all of its surface aft of the middle of the boss. A screw propeller blade A is generated by a straight line a, b, perpendicular to the axis and whereby the main area of the blade is disposed aft of the centre line of the boss e, the inner portion being connected by a short inclined generatrix b, c from the middle of the boss, there being a smooth curve of transposition between the two straight sections.</p> |
