In the present invention, by ascertaining the position of a slider (60), the reliability of mating-detection functionality is increased. A cutout constituting a relief concavity (29) is formed in the rear end of a housing (10). A slider (60) that can move between a forward position and a rearward position is incorporated into said housing (10). While the housing (10) is in the process of fitting together with another housing (90), the slider (60) is held, with the movement thereof constrained, in the forward position. When the housings (10, 90) have been fitted together fully, the constraint on the movement of the slider (60) is released and the slider (60) moves to the rearward position. In the forward position, none of the slider (60) can be seen from below, but in the rearward position, the rear end of the slider (60) can be seen from below. Also, in the rearward position, a pressing means that contacts the rear end of the slider (60) through the abovementioned relief concavity (29) pushes the slider (60) forwards to the forward position.
