PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a biaxially oriented polyester film capable of improving adhesion and moisture and heat resistant adhesiveness while maintaining high productivity, and to provide a method for producing the same.SOLUTION: There is provided a biaxially oriented polyester film, wherein a polyester resin composition constituting a polyester film, in which the retention rate of elongation at break in one direction of longitudinal and width directions after treating at 120°C and 100% relative humidity for 36 hours is 30% or more and 100% or less, contains 3.0 wt.% or more and 20.0 wt.% or less of titanium oxide with respect to the whole polyester resin composition, the polyester resin constituting the polyester resin composition has intrinsic viscosity of 0.57 dl/g or more and 0.65 dl/g or less and the amount of a terminal carboxyl group is 36.0 eq/t or more and 50.0 eq/t or less. |
