PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer fitting member of a reinforcing metal fitting capable of stably and easily executing mounting work.SOLUTION: A reinforcing metal fitting 20 mounted on a connecting portion of existing pipes connected with each other by inserting a spigot formed on an end portion of one of the pipes into a socket formed on an end portion of the other pipe for preventing the separation between the socket and the spigot, is provided with an outer fitting member 21. The outer fitting member 21 has split portions 25 on three places in the circumferential direction to be composed of three or more split pieces 21A-21D, and is externally fitted to the spigot. Flanges 26 disposed on the split portions 25 have insertion holes formed for inserting fastening tools 27. When the fastening tools 27 are fastened to close the split portions 25, a clearance is not provided between the split faces opposed to each other at the split portion 25. Hook-shaped engagement portions 22 engageable with the socket are disposed, and the plurality of engagement portions 22 are disposed on the split pieces 21A-21D while separated from each other in the circumferential direction. |
