<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect variation of a spray shape to prevent deterioration of combustion property due to the variation of the spray shape.SOLUTION: A spray shape variation estimating device implements gradually-changing control of gradually changing a fuel injection timing to estimate variation of a fuel-spray shape, based on a boundary arrival injection timing that is a fuel injection timing when a fuel spray arriving at a boundary area BA between a piston top surface outer peripheral edge 26 and a bore wall surface 27 is formed. In the spray shape variation estimating device, a boundary arrival injection timing is determined based on variation of a parameter relating to combustion property (e.g. engine rotation speed, cylinder internal pressure, output torque, etc.).</p> |
