The present invention provides a stereoscopic display device whereby luminance variation and crosstalk can be kept from worsening from before to after a parallax barrier is switched. The stereoscopic display device is provided with a display panel (10) for displaying an image by a plurality of pixels, a switch liquid crystal panel disposed over the display panel (10), a position sensor for acquiring position information of an observer, and a control unit for moving a parallax barrier, in which transmitting regions (SL) and non-transmitting regions (BR) are formed in periodic fashion in a predetermined alignment direction, along the alignment direction in accordance with the position information at a predetermined barrier switching pitch as a minimum unit and causing the switch liquid crystal panel to display the parallax barrier. The width (A) of openings of the plurality of pixels in the alignment direction satisfies the expressions A ≤ Ws1 - 2Pe and A ≤ Wbr - 2Pe, where Ws1 is the width of the transmitting regions (SL), Wbr is the width of the non-transmitting regions (BR), and Pe is the barrier switching pitch. |
