PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition for treatment or prevention of diseases selected from renal ischemia-reperfusion injury, hearing loss, glaucoma, ischemic ocular conditions including anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, ischemic optic neuropathy (ION), eye injury, age-related macular degeneration (AMD), dry eye syndrome, spinal cord injury, acute renal failure (ARF), nephrotoxicity and neurotoxicity, ischemia-reperfusion injury following lung transplantation, and delayed graft function (DGF) following organ transplantation including lung, liver, heart, pancreas, and kidney transplantation.SOLUTION: There is provided a preparation of a chemically and/or structurally modified siRNA oligonucleotide and a composition containing the siRNA oligonucleotide for inhibiting specific mammalian genes including TP53BP2, LRDD, CYBA, CASP2, NOX3, HRK, RAC1, RHOA and DUOX1.
