<p>A bread slicer comprising a receiving area 50 for receiving a loaf of bread; a return area 25 for delivering sliced bread; a path 90 along which the bread moves from the receiving area 50 to the return area 25. The path 90 comprises a substantially 5 downwardly inclined surface extending from the rear of the receiving area to the return area.
